Why Are Socks And Sandals So Comfortable? The Truth

Society likes to tell us not to do certain things. Whether that refers to not putting pineapple on pizza or wearing socks and sandals, you are told throughout life not to do them.

We will let you in on a little secret: socks and sandals make an amazingly comfy combination. But why do they work so well when they are designed for different intentions?

The Ultimate Camouflage

This may sound a little ironic, as many people will notice socks and sandals, but hear us out!

Sandals are cool, and they are certainly a great summertime addition to your wardrobe. However, they leave little to the imagination when someone looks at your feet. This is problematic for some of us who have what is called ‘work in progress’ feet, which may not be ready to be shared with the world.

Socks help hide any chipped nail varnish, cracked heels or other issues on your feet. Combining them with sandals lets you enjoy summer the way is it supposed to be enjoyed without feeling insecure about how your feet look.

Ankle socks help to make the look more natural, so if anyone asks, all you have to say is “It’s a new fashion trend”.

The Reality of Most Sandals

Your experience may be different, but ours consists of sandals causing blisters and never fitting exactly right. It makes sense if you think about it; the way that most sandals are designed results in everyone without a perfectly shaped foot experiencing comfortability issues. Socks help create a comfy barrier between the sandal and the foot, to prevent friction whilst helping your feet fit into it better.

Modern Day Socks

Socks have evolved over the years and more and more individuals look for extreme comfort and durability. Plus, they even come in wacky designs now, like the ones we have available. Bamboo socks have been making tremendous strides lately, as they offer many bamboo sock benefits. The point is, socks these days usually fit feet really well and provide great protection, especially for people on their feet all day. This means that pairing them with sandals, which are usually uncomfortable, creates the ultimate combination.

Dealing With Sand

Sand is great when you’re hanging out at the beach all day, but when it is time to go home, the last thing you want is sand stuck in your sandals, irritating your feet. By washing your feet thoroughly and popping on a pair of socks, your feet can stay at their best while you walk around in peace in your sandals.
